Our group of 8 family members, including 2 young children visited Cartagena in early February 2015 and had a wonderful time with Martin on his city highlights tour. He was always very professional, extremely courteous and made some wonderful recommendations on great places to eat and other must do activities during our stay. He was quick to respond to all of my email inquiries and truly recommend you contact him if you are planning a visit to Cartagena and interested in getting a good feel for the city and meeting a new friend.

My friend and I booked a tour with Martin last minute about a day or two before we arrived in Cartagena. I had high hopes because of all the great reviews on TripAdvisor, but to be honest, I felt a bit like he was giving a rote tour without a whole lot of personality injected into the tour itself. I kind of felt like maybe we were wasting his time. It was very historical-based which was great and informative, but I was hoping for a more fun and interesting vibe rather than just a walking tour with lots of facts. I keep a travelogue of my travels – and the street food tour I did with Cartagena Connections actually proved more interesting in terms of the facts I learned about the Cartagena way of life than this tour did, unfortunately. In fact, I remember almost none of the things Martin told us, but almost all of the information the street food tour injected into their walking tour.

My husband and I visited Colombia with our 2 children for a week this past January. We decided to sign up for a private tour of Cartagena with Martin Rosales based on the comments we read on TA. We were not disappointed! Martin was punctual, knowledgeable and friendly. He modified the tour based on our requests and we never felt rushed at any point.

Martin arranged a tour for us for Jan. 2nd. Due to circumstances beyond our control, our stop in Cartagena go canceled. I called Martin and he was so understanding and gracious. A few hours later, we were told we were stopping in Cartagena. I called back and asked to reschedule and he immediately rescheduled with another guide. He had it all arranged and personally came to meet us and introduced us to Benny. Benny was so professional, personable and knowledgeable. He provided us with a lot of information about Cartagena. He also packed in a lot of details and sites in a relatiely short time. He totally changed my preconceived negative opinion of this area….and I am planning to return. Thank you to Martin and all his staff….great experience!!!!

I echo what the others have said about Martin’s excellence and customization ability. We wanted to see the Sephardic Center during our visit, and Martin arranged time there. My wife was reading “Love in the Time of Cholera” so we also visited some of the sites associated with the book and movie (I recommend seeing it before a visit). Well worth the time and money.
